I studied photography at the Art Institute of Boston and completed my undergraduate education at Calvin College in Michigan. I entered the industry directly after college and have worked within it, both on staff and freelance, throughout my career. As a photographer I’ve always been more an observer than a director, preferring to get in close, watch carefully and compose on the fly, than to artificially compose. Call it Photo-verite style. This does not mean I am strictly interested in the surface of things, providing description with no depth. I don't feel I am merely looking at bodies in motion, but at heart and soul embodied.
